CHASETOWN'S hopes of an FA Cup run came to an end with a 1-0 loss at Boldmere St Michaels.

Matt Funge had the Scholars' first chance of note after a quarter of an hour but could only fire wide.

A header from Matthew Hearsay went just over the bar ten minutes later – and then the forward was denied by a good save. 

Jack Langston volleyed wide of the target before the break as Chasetown continued to look for a breakthrough.

But it was Boldmere who opened the scoring when John Atherton netted on the hour mark.

Chasetown rang the changes in a bid to find a leveller, but it wasn't to be as the hosts booked their place in the next round.
