CHASETOWN picked up their first win of pre-season with a 3-0 triumph at Stafford Town.

Carl Dickinson's men went in front after ten minutes when a jinking run by George Cater allowed him to beat his man before curling the ball into the top corner.

The Scholars continued to press and almost doubled their lead ten minutes before the break when Matt Funge stretched for a cross but couldn't quite get the contact to turn it home.

Chasetown went close early in the second period with an effort fired just over the bar.

The second goal did arrive on the hour mark when Leo Latter netted.

Stafford went close with an effort over the bar as they sought to open their account for the evening, before Curtis Pond was also called on to race out to clear the danger from a through ball.

The scoring was wrapped up when Kyle Moseley netted.
