Lichfield Diamonds made it through their quarter final clash, despite less than perfect preparation.

The city side had key players missing for the League Cup game and had not been in action for eight weeks.

But the Diamonds set about their task with determination and got their reward when Steff Speck gave them the lead.

Lichfield showed their defensive side as they saw off Chellaston’s best efforts to find a way back into the game, with Sophie Hitchcock outstanding throughout to keep another clean sheet.
