It looks like another Lichfield shop has bitten the dust.

Just days after the good news that [Lichfield Needlecraft Centre had received the kiss of life](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2009/04/16/lichfield-embroidery-shop-reopens/), the Koala Parlour has now put the for sale sign.

The demise of Koala Parlour follows the exit from the Lichfield shopping landscape of [Big D](http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/news/Store-closes-loss-27-jobs/article-910612-detail/article.html?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk).

As our picture shows, the Tamworth Street health food store – which is within a stone’s throw of newly-arrived competitor [Julian Graves](http://www.juliangraves.com/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) – has put the closing down sale sign up.

Yes, the arrival of a new store such as Julian Graves is to be applauded, but is it really in the best interests of the city if – as it appears – it merely pushes another shop out of town?
