# Community groups set to benefit from We Love Lichfield funding

It will be a happy Christmas for worthy causes in the area thanks to a £10,000 festive giveaway by the We Love Lichfield Fund.

The fund, which makes donations of up to £1,000, is planning its next presentation in early December and is inviting applications from 1st October.

Many community groups have already benefited from the fund and patron Simon Price is encouraging more to make a grant application.

He said: “I’m delighted to announce the next series of grants and I’m looking forward to hearing about all the fantastic work done across the district and how we can help.

“The fund is here solely to help those people and organisations who give their time for free and make a significant contribution to society. Without them, many precious projects would not benefit many members of our society. The fund itself is run by volunteers and together I hope we can make a difference.”

The We Love Lichfield Fund was launched in 2011 and is financed through donations and fund-raising events. Firms and individuals are welcome to donate or fund-raise and all money is invested through a permanent endowment fund by registered charity Staffordshire Community Foundation on behalf of We Love Lichfield in line with charity commission guidelines. The interest and dividends earned on the invested money is then distributed by the fund.

Applicants are asked to check the guidelines to make sure they qualify. The deadline for the receipt of applications is October 28\.
