Council chiefs say they are “delighted” by the news the Queen’s Baton Relay will be coming to Lichfield and Burntwood.

It will [visit the area on 20th July](https://lichfieldlive.co.uk/queens-baton-relay-to-visit-lichfield-ahead-of-the-commonwealth-games/) ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

The baton relay will arrive at the National Memorial Arboretum before heading for Kings Bromley, Lichfield city centre, Burntwood and Chasewater.

Cllr Iain Eadie, Lichfield District Council’s deputy leader, said:

> “I am delighted the Queen’s Baton Relay is running through Lichfield district.

> “This is great news and is bound to create enormous excitement during the run up to the Commonwealth Games.
