Campaigners [targeted The Friary School](https://lichfieldlive.co.uk/anti-vaccine-protesters-take-campaign-to-gates-of-lichfield-secondary-school/) and Nether Stowe School over the past week to highlight their opposition to coronavirus jabs.

The protests drew criticism from Lichfield’s MP Michael Fabricant and Cllr Doug Pullen, the leader of Lichfield District Council.

Cllr Alan White, Conservative representative for the Whittington and Streethay ward, told a meeting of the local authority:

> “I condemn wholeheartedly the activities of the anti-vax protesters outside Lichfield schools.

> “I think it is totally and utterly unacceptable that the premise on which they are basing their protest is first of all wrong and, secondly, that they are targeting children.

> I would support unreservedly anyone’s right to peacefully protest in this country, but to stand outside a school and intimidate children is totally unacceptable.
