Plans to install new cycle racks across Burntwood have been unveiled.

Proposals to fund the work using £2,520 from the community infrastructure levy fund will be discussed by Burntwood Town Council’s planning and development committee on Thursday (12th May).

A report to the meeting said it would target five areas if the scheme is given the go-ahead.

> “Erecting cycle racks in key shopping areas across the town would promote healthy living, sustainable transport and the use of cycle routes in the town.

> “Phase one of the plan is to pick locations in the five main shopping areas to attract people to utilise them as much as possible.

> “There are cycle routes in place that have recently been enhanced by Staffordshire County Council. Cycles are visible across the town, but there is no formal storage or security locations to park them.”

The meeting will take place at St John’s Community Church at 6pm on Thursday.
