# Couple to celebrate 70th wedding anniversary

RESIDENTS at a local retirement complex are preparing to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary.

Tony and Ann Pearson, who live at Copperfields on Boley Park, will mark the milestone on 3rd May.

They will return to St Peter’s Church in Hednesford where they married in 1956 for a blessing ceremony, before enjoying a celebration with friends and family from across the country.

The couple met at 16 and were married five years later. They went on to have a son and daughter, as well as three grandchildren and a great grandson.

A spokesperson for Copperfields said:

> “Following an apprenticeship in administration, Tony’s career was far and wide involving 16 house moves and visiting more than 30 overseas countries, concluding with a position in the Prince’s Trust.

> “Ann, having attended The Friary School in Lichfield, was always keen to retire to her favourite area and they moved to the city in 1997, before later moving into Copperfields where they have lived happily for 17 years among many new friends.”
