The date has been set for a by-election in Burntwood.

The Boney Hay and Central seat on Burntwood Town Council has been vacated following [the resignation of Natasha Pullen](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2017/05/09/burntwood-conservative-councillor-resigns-to-focus-on-new-role-at-staffordshire-county-council/).

It had been expected that a co-opt agreement would be made to allow the Conservatives to replace their own member, but [a row over a similar situation in the Chasetown ward](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2017/05/19/decision-to-appoint-conservative-to-burntwood-town-council-branded-a-disgraceful-action-by-labour-councillor/) means both Labour and the Conservatives are now likely to field candidates.

The by-election will take place on July 27, with candidates needing to be confirmed by June 30.
