A DISQUALIFIED driver who was carrying cocaine has been sentenced after he rammed a police officer’s leg with his car in an attempt to escape.

Bradley Hill, 28 and from Lichfield, was driving a BMW on Wheel Lane in October 2022.

Officers in the area knew he was banned from driving at the time so an unmarked police car pulled in front of Hill and put on blue lights.

But he revved his engine and drove towards the car, trapping the officer’s leg in the door as he was trying to get out.

He was later charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously, assault by beating of an emergency worker, possessing a controlled drug of class A (cocaine) and driving while disqualified.

Hill admitted the offences in court and was sentenced to two years imprisonment, suspended for two years.
