The greyhound found on Eastern Avenue on June 10

Wardens are trying to trace the owners of a dog found in Lichfield.

The female greyhound was picked up on Eastern Avenue in the city at 10pm on June 10.

The dog is light brown and white and is believed to be four or five years old.

Anyone with information about the owners is asked to call Lichfield District Council on 01543 308725.

The pooch is just one of many dogs that are not claimed by their owners each year in Lichfield. The council displays the details of all the dogs that are found in the area on their [website](http://www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/site/custom%5Fscripts/lostdogs.php?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk).

The council takes all of the lost dogs to kennels in Coven where they wait for their owners to claim them.
