A local theme park has picked up a top industry award for the ninth consecutive year.

Drayton Manor Park won the Best UK Attraction for Children prize at the 2016 Group Leisure Awards.

The home of Thomas Land is still family owned and run. Managing director William Bryan said: “This is the ninth year we have received this award which is a real testament to the team here at Drayton Manor.

“We work extremely hard to ensure that we maintain our goal, which has always been to provide an amazing day out for our visitors.

“Being recognised for providing the best day out for children is such an achievement and our efforts are now focused on aiming for our tenth award in this category in 2017!”

The attraction’s Magical Christmas event returns on November 19.
