# Drivers gearing up for three month closure of main route in and out of Lichfield

Drivers are being reminded that they will not be able to use the Burton Road in Streethay for the next three months.

The Burton Road through Streethay

Major sewer improvements and roadworks will start tomorrow (July 25) after being pushed back by a week to coincide with the start of the school holidays.

During the closure, drivers will not be able to leave or join the A38 at Streethay.

A spokesperson for Severn Trent Water said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The road [was closed three times in three days](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2016/07/20/burton-road-in-lichfield-closed-again-after-third-crash-in-as-many-days/) after separate accidents last week.

Bus passengers are also facing delays and alterations to services because of the latest roadworks.

Midland Classic say their X12 will go via the A38 and Cappers Lane, with the Lichfield Trent Valley stop not in operation. The service will not call at Boley Park either.

The 810 service will divert from Fradley via Wood End Lane and enter Lichfield via the A515.
