Youngsters visiting a Lichfield museum are being invited to get in the Easter spirit during the school holidays.

The Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum will host Sam’s Easter Egg Hunt from April 9 to 24, as well as running a competition to design an Easter basket and hosting the Groovy Georgian Gardens arts and crafts activity morning.

Museums and Heritage officer Joanne Wilson said:

> “We have a lot happening this Easter and are particularly excited about our new Groovy Georgian Gardens workshop. We had a huge number of highly imaginative entries for our egg and cake designing competitions over the last two years, and are looking forward to seeing what our visitors put into their Easter baskets this year!”

The Easter hunt takes place throughout the holiday, with an activity pack, including pencil and sticker, costing £1.

Groovy Georgian Gardens takes place on April 14 from 10am to 12noon with visitors invited to help resident artist Carole Collier to create a spring garden. Places for the session – which is suitable for children aged seven to 14 – are limited and tickets cost £6 including all materials.

To book a place on the Gardens workshop call 01543 264 972 or email [sjmuseum@lichfield.gov.uk](mailto:sjmuseum@lichfield.gov.uk). The Museum is open from 10.30am to 4.30pm daily.
