[The parish council](http://elfordparish.co.uk/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) will now draw up a neighbourhood plan which, if approved, will help shape the future direction of the area.

Councillor Ian Pritchard, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for economy, growth and development said: “I am pleased that another community from Lichfield district has worked hard to follow in the path of other local parish councils to have their area designated.

“It’s a great opportunity for Elford to shape how their community will look in the future and we look forward to receiving comments about the application.”

Lichfield District Council is now holding a six-week consultation until July 24\. People can [comment online](http://www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/neighbourhoodplans?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) or by calling 01543 308912.
