Family and friends are preparing to say a final farewell to a man killed on the A38 near Lichfield.

The funeral of Richard Hall will be held on August 25 at Alrewas All Saints Church.

People who knew the popular 21-year-old are being invited to pay a floral tribute to him at the service, by bringing a red rose to throw onto his coffin as one of Mr Hall’s favourite songs was Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi.

Mr Hall died in the early hours of Saturday morning after being hit by a car as he crossed the carriageway between a garage and his home near Alrewas.

Hundreds of his friends have joined a Facebook group set up in his memory.
