# Footballing legends heading to Lichfield to captain pub quiz teams

Footballing legends are set to go head to head in a Lichfield pub quiz.

Peter Reid and Ian Rush will be joining drinkers at The Crown for the event tomorrow night (October 12).

The duo will captain teams in the event which takes place before England’s World Cup qualifier with San Marino which will be on the big screens at the pub.

They will be joined by BBC presenter Chris Hollins for the Ultimate Carlsberg Pub Quiz and will also offer pre-match, half-time and full-time analysis for fans of the big match.

Gary McDonnell, owner of The Crown, said: “To have Ian Rush and Peter Reid for a quiz before an England World Cup qualifier is an honour.

“It’s great that Carlsberg are providing this amazing opportunity for us to reward our loyal regulars and hopefully get some new faces through the door.”

The evening starts at 6pm but fans are urged to get their early to grab a seat.

“If you can’t be at the stadium, the pub is the next best place to watch the game with your mates and get behind England,” said Peter Reid.

“I can’t wait to share my passion and views on the game and of course captain a team in the ultimate Carlsberg pub quiz. I am looking forward to stepping up and testing my skills and hope to get some knowledgeable fans on my team, I always play to win!”
