Cllr Richard Mosson

Richard Mosson is stepping down from the post due to “personal reasons”.

The Conservative councillor had been leader of the council for a year from May 2015.

A letter from the council’s town clerk to members of the authority revealed Cllr Mosson’s decision.

“I am sure that members will understand and sympathise with his situation which lead him to consider that he did not have time to focus on his duties as a parish councillor.”

The current leader of Burntwood Town Council, Cllr Doug Pullen, paid tribute to his outgoing colleague.

“I understand that he has resigned due to pressures in his work and home life,” he said.

“I’d like to thank Cllr Mosson for his contribution to Burntwood Town Council, including his work on the neighbourhood plan, and wish him all the best for the future.”
