Former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie has signed for Chasetown FC.

The one-time England international made his debut in last night’s 1-1 draw against Matlock Town.

Since leaving Villa Park, Hendrie has had spells at a number of Football League clubs.

However, he has made headlines more recently for matters off the field after [being declared bankrupt](http://www.birminghammail.net/news/top-stories/2012/03/14/bankrupt-former-aston-villa-star-lee-hendrie-lost-cash-on-houses-and-films-97319-30527053/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk).

Another new – but familiar – face appeared at the Scholars Ground last night too, with goalkeeper Lee Evans returning to the side after a spell at Stafford Rangers.
