# Forward explains the reasons behind his Chasetown FC exit

Former Chasetown FC forward Harry Harris has revealed he is disappointed to be leaving the club – but admitted the team’s style of football didn’t suit him.

Harris [revealed his decision](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2009/09/12/harry-harris-confirms-his-departure-from-chasetown-fc/) to quit the Scholars Ground after failing to come off the bench in Saturday’s [0-0 draw against Stamford](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2009/09/12/chasetown-fc-0-afc-stamford-0/).

And the former Walsall forward believes a clash in footballing styles helped him to make up his mind about leaving.

He told The Lichfield Blog:

> “I don’t think they style of football at Chasetown this season has suited me. This year they are going more route one and, to be honest, it’s not how I want to play.”

But despite this, Harris admits he will be leaving the Scholars ground with a heavy heart.

He continued:

> “I loved my time at Chasetown. I get on really well with everyone there and they have a great bunch of lads. I have some true friends at Chasetown, but I want to play football. But wish them well this season.”

Although Harris has informed manager Charlie Blakemore of his decision to quit, he has not yet secured a move to another club.

However there is unlikely to be a shortage of suitors for the one-time Walsall man, who left Chasetown fans with a glorious long-range goal against Spalding United to remember him by.
