Four candidates will contest the vacant Stowe ward seat on Lichfield City Council.

The by-election will take place on May 4 [after Mike Thompson stepped down](“//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2017/03/03/conservative-councillor-resigns-from-role-on-lichfield-city-council/“).

The notice of election has now been posted, revealing the candidates as:

- Jeyan Anketell – Liberal Democrats
- Matthew Field – Labour
- Jim McGrath – Conservatives
- Philip John – Something New
