# Free sanitary products available at libraries

FREE sanitary products are being made available at local libraries.

A scheme is being rolled out by Staffordshire County Council to help people struggling financially by giving them access to pads and tampons.

It comes after a successful pilot on addressing period poverty.

Cllr Hayley Coles, Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for communities and culture, said:

> “Access to sanitary products is a basic necessity, not a luxury.

> “This initiative is about protecting people’s dignity and wellbeing. We’ve seen the difference it’s made already, and we’re proud to extend that support even further.

> “It’s also heartening to see how many residents are donating to help others. It’s a real show of community spirit.”
