CHASETOWN were left frustrated after their trip to Widnes was called off shortly before kick-off.

It appeared the game had beaten Storm Darragh with the home side’s artificial surface not impacted by the rain.

But around an hour before kick-off Widnes posted a statement confirming the match officials had decided to cancel the fixture due to safety concerns.

The game will now be rearranged on an alternative date.
