The fundraising page set up in memory of Dave Gallagher

A fundraising page set up to pay for a memorial to a Lichfield man has hit its target within two days.

Dave Gallagher, who died earlier this week, was one of the driving forces behind the [You’re Probably From Lichfield If…](https://www.facebook.com/groups/147115742045610/) Facebook page.

Members of the group began fundraising to fund a memorial to him – an appeal which has already passed its £500 target.

Fiona Crisp, who set up [the JustGiving page](https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/dave-gallagher?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk), posted: “Dave Gallagher was a rare breed; there for anybody and everybody and a true friend.

“He will be very truly missed.”

Others on the fundraising page described him as “true gentleman” and “a huge loss to the city”.
