# Gary Hay strike earns a draw for Chasetown FC at Tipton Town

After a quiet opening, Tipton took the lead when a cross from the left-hand side was headed beyond goalkeeper Ryan Price at the far post.

Chasetown, whose tempo had been good in previous friendlies, were struggling to get their passing game going, but went close to an equaliser when Matt Jukes saw a header come back off the post.

The home side went close to a second, heading over the bar from a corner, and then had a free kick scrambled away as they sought to double their advantage.

Harris introduced Danny Smith and Jack Farmer at half-time, and it was the introduction of the former that saw The Scholars looking far livelier.

Within a minute of the restart, Gary Hay fired over the bar and then it was Smith who set up the equaliser, drilling the ball across the box where Gary Hay was on hand to rifle the ball home.

Ryan Price made a great save to keep the scores level, while, at the other end, Richard Teesdale headed a Mark Branch free-kick over the bar.
