The Green Party’s General Election candidate for Lichfield and Burntwood says she is “a credible alternative” for voters.

Andrea Muckley was speaking at [a hustings event at Wade Street Church](https://lichfieldlive.co.uk/live-general-election-hustings/) ahead of the poll on Thursday (12th December).

She said the Greens offered an option for voters outside of the main parties:

> “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different outcome.
>
> “We are living in difficult, dangerous and divisive times.
>
> “The Green Party offers a credible alternative.”

The candidate spoke of her role as a councillor in Cannock, suggesting she had seen first hand what happens when politicians follow the party line – and the need to break free from that.

She said:

> “I’m in politics to speak up for people. I don’t care if I’m unpopular because of this – I’m a solicitor so I’m used to it.
>
> “We need this approach in Parliament as we are stuck in the mud.
>
> “What we need is a breath of fresh air and some new MPs to shake it up.
>
> “And we need people who actually speak for us.”
