The party’s local arm was only formed nine months ago – members held their first meeting at The Spark Café in January 2015.

Chairman Robert Pass stood as the Greens’ first parliamentary candidate in Lichfield since 1990.

He finished fifth in elections held earlier this year as Conservative Michael Fabricant was re-elected to parliament.

The party also fielded Mat Hayward and Eddie Jones in the local elections.

Spokesman Simon Partridge said the public would be hearing more about their plans in the coming months.

“We have had new members since the election and we have continued to grow locally as a party,” he said.

“There are plans in place for our branch to continue to grow, and we have events planned.”
