# Groups in Lichfield and Burntwood urged to apply to county council funding scheme

Community groups across Lichfield and Burntwood are being urged to apply for funding as the deadline approaches.

The Community Fund is being delivered by Staffordshire County Council and sees councillors given up to £2,500 each to support local projects or organisations.

The deadline for applications is on 31st October.

Cllr Victoria Wilson, cabinet member for communities and culture at the county council, said:

> “We’ve already seen some great projects funded but we’re keen to hear from more groups before the fund closes at the end of the month.

> “We have a thriving and dedicated voluntary sector in Staffordshire, with many thousands of volunteers who have provided vital support and services during The Covid-19 pandemic.

> “The last 18 months without doubt have put extra pressures on many groups and through our fund we hope to be able to help them recover and rebuild them to their pre-pandemic activities.

> “We’ve tried to make the application process as simple as possible to make it easy for people to apply and I would urge groups, large or small, to get their applications in before the closing date.
