# Half-term fun on offer for youngsters in Lichfield and Burntwood

Families looking for half-term fun are being offered the chance to take part in a range of activities in Lichfield and Burntwood.

Burntwood Leisure Centre staff getting ready for the half-term fun

Council leisure facilities will be welcoming youngsters for events between October 26 and November 3.

Among the activities are:

- a Halloween Puzzle Trail at Beacon Park
- a Holiday Club at Burntwood Leisure Centre
- a Badminton Coaching Course at King Edward VI Leisure Centre
- a Junior Duathlon at Friary Grange Leisure Centre

As well as coaching courses and activity days, the council is running holiday offers including Footy for a Fiver at its three leisure centres and Rapid Round of Golf at Beacon Park to encourage young people to keep active during the school holiday.

Councillor Val Richards said: “We have a wide range of activities on offer for children and young people, including drama, table tennis, cycling, swimming and much more.”

Friary Grange Leisure Centre’s swimming pool is closed while the £500,000 makeover to the changing rooms, reception and refreshment area takes place. But the rest of the leisure centre is still open.

“We hope everyone will continue to swim at Burntwood Leisure Centre while Friary Grange’s swimming pool is closed. From leisure and lane swimming, through to adults only and fun sessions for the family, Burntwood’s pool timetable offers something for all ages,” Cllr Richards added..
