STUDENTS collecting their GCSE results are being reminded of the help available to them.

Young people will be finding out their grades at local schools today (20th August).

Staffordshire County Council’s careers site, Choosing Your Options, launched last year. It gives advice about the range of options available to students.

Cllr Janet Higgins, Staffordshire County Council cabinet member for education and SEND said:

> "I want to say a huge well done to everyone collecting their GCSE results today.
>
> "Whatever is inside that envelope, this is a moment to recognise your hard work, commitment and resilience, and you should feel proud of everything you have achieved. "If your results are not quite what you hoped for, please do not feel that your future is fixed by this one day. There are many different routes open to you, from sixth form and college to apprenticeships, work-based learning and other training, and there is support available to help you decide what comes next.
>
> "Our Choosing Your Options website brings together practical advice and inspiration in one place, so young people and their families can explore the choices available and take the next step with confidence."

Cllr Robin Hall, Staffordshire County Council cabinet member for economy and skills, said:

> "Results day can feel like a big moment, but it does not define anyone’s future. Whatever grades young people receive, there are many routes open to them in 2026, from college and sixth form to apprenticeships, training and work-based learning.
>
> "Our Choosing Your Options website and careers helpline are there to help young people and their families understand those choices and take the next step with confidence. I would encourage anyone who is unsure what to do next to get in touch and give themselves every chance of a great future."

As well as a website, there is also a dedicated helpline available from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday on 01785 854125, or people can email [CareersParticipation@staffordshire.gov.uk](mailto:CareersParticipation@staffordshire.gov.uk) for help.
