# Independent businesses to host Christmas market at Lichfield micro pub

Independent businesses in Lichfield are teaming up for a Christmas market at a city micropub.

[The Whippet Inn](https://www.instagram.com/thewhippetinn.micropub/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) will throw open its doors from 3pm to 8pm on 9th December for visitors to stock up on festive gifts.

Taking part in the event will be [Evie la Lùve Lingerie](https://www.instagram.com/evielaluve/?hl=en&ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk), offering sew-your-own patterns and handmade gifts, illustrator [Made by Leah](https://www.instagram.com/itsmadebyleah/?hl=en&ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk), artisan baker [Baked Attraction](https://www.instagram.com/bakedattraction/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk); [Simply Made](https://www.instagram.com/simplymadeuk/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk), which sells vegan and eco-friendly handmade soy candles, and [Harriet’s Plants](https://www.instagram.com/harriets.plants/?hl=en&ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk).

Taken over by James Bullivant in 2018, much of The Whippet Inn’s focus over the past two years has been on supporting independent brewers, distillers and local businesses.

James said:

> “Lichfield is full of creative people doing really interesting and unusual things.

> “We wanted to do something different and showcase all of the independents that the city has to offer.  
>  
> “Think differently about your Christmas shopping this year, buy some really special gifts and support local businesses at the same time.”

#### Mulled cider and mince pies

As well as the stalls, there will also be mulled cider and mince pies on offer.

Hannah Bullivant, owner of Evie la Lùve Lingerie, said:

> “What better way to start the Christmas season and what a great bunch of talented independents.

> “I think I can speak for everyone in saying that we’re incredibly excited to be setting up stall at the Whippet – it’s going to be brilliant.”
