An event in Lichfield is aiming to get journalists and web developers to teach other tricks of their trade – and tell stories in a new way.

[Lichfield Hacks & Hackers Hack Day](http://lichhack.eventbrite.com/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) is the sixth in a series of the hack days throughout the UK. Starting off in London the tour moved to Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds and is set to continue on to Belfast and Dublin after Lichfield.

Organised by [ScraperWiki](http://scraperwiki.com/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk), the event is supported by [Lichfield District Council](http://lichfielddc.gov.uk/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) and local business [Journal Local](http://journallocal.co.uk/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk). Community events co-ordinator for ScraperWiki, Judith Townend said:

> “We’re thrilled to be working with Lichfield District Council on one of our Hacks & Hackers events – they are a pioneer in open data, showing how productive the relationship between web developers and local councils can be.
>
> “Our other events have been based in big cities, so this one will be a little different from our other hack days, but just as exciting – especially because there are so many interesting people working in the area.”

As a free event, it’s open to anyone from journalists to bloggers, developers to designers and anyone with an interest in communications. It takes place at Venture House, Davidson Road on November 11 from 9.30am to 7.30pm, although attendees are free to come and go.
