# Kidical Mass bike ride event coming to Lichfield

Lichfield is set to join an international bike ride event for children.

The [Kidical Mass](http://www.kidicalmass.org/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) initiative started in the USA in 2008 to teach families safety skills and raise awareness of younger riders on the roads.

The Lichfield ride will take place on September 19, starting from Speakers’ Corner at 1.30pm.

The bikes will then head through the city centre and finish in Beacon Park.

A spokesperson said: “We’ll be showing that kids are traffic too and that cities that plan for family biking are more sustainable, profitable and fun.”
