# Lichfield city centre venue celebrates Pride with photography exhibition

PRIDE is being celebrated at a Lichfield city centre venue.

The Hub at St Mary's is showcasing a selection of photographs from last year's event.

It comes after bosses at Staffordshire County Council banned Lichfield Library – which shares the former church building with The Hub – from showcasing Pride displays.

A spokesperson for the venue said:

> "A little burst of Pride has landed at The Hub.

> "While we wait for our next big exhibition install, we’ve put together a temporary mini exhibition featuring brilliant shots from last year’s Pride parade, captured by Douglas Armour.

> "We’re counting down to Lichfield Pride next month and can’t wait to celebrate, support and stand alongside our LGBTQ+ community once again."

The Hub is also launching an appeal for books to help showcase LGBTQ+ authors and topics.

> "We're collecting LGBTQ+ books to help create a free community giveaway, making stories, support and representation more accessible to those who need them.

> "Every book has the power to help someone feel seen, understood and a little less alone. If you can spare one, we'd be incredibly grateful."

Donations can be dropped off at The Hub at St Mary's until 4th July.
