Burntwood St Matthews fell just short as they aimed to reach the final of the Staffs Challenge Cup.

A 3-1 semi-final defeat at Red White and Blue saw the Lichfield and District Football League side miss out on a county final appearance.

Meanwhile, in the league Rushall continued their march at the top of the Premier Division with a comprehensive 6-0 thumping of basement side Old Swan.
