# Lichfield bands take centre stage at Burntwood gig

Red Light Octopus

A Burntwood pub is set to play host to two crowd-pleasing local groups.

[The Oak](http://web.me.com/jov2/theoak/Welcome.html?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) at Sankey’s Corner will welcome [Red Light Octopus](http://www.myspace.com/redlightoctopus?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) and [The Country Bumkin Band](http://www.myspace.com/thecountrybumkinband?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) this evening (October 16).

Taking influences from everything from Bob Dylan and Neil Young to Nirvana and Buddy Holly, the band are regulars on the local scene.

Fellow Lichfield group Red Light Octopus, meanwhile, are a funk-rock four-piece who caused a stir when they [gave away their EP](//lichfieldlive.co.uk/2009/04/13/lichfield-band-give-away-their-new-ep/) in protest at the lack of music venues in their home town.

Entry to the gig, which starts at 8pm, is £3.
