# Lichfield bookmaker applies for permission to switch to new city location

A Lichfield bookmakers could be on the move.

Betfred – currently based in the Three Spires Shopping Centre – has applied for a Betting Premises Licence for a new location in the city.

The application relates to the former Victoria Wines site on Tamworth Street.

Moves had [already been put in place to change the official use of the empty shop in November](http://planning.lichfielddc.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=MDY14AJE05C00&ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk), but the new licence application sheds light on what the business to be based there is likely to be.

The current Betfred store is next to the former TJ Hughes shop which is in the process of being converted into the new home of Debenhams in the city.
