LICHFIELD City were beaten 1-0 in their opening pre-season friendly.

More than 750 fans turned out for the fixture, but it was Tamworth who broke the deadlock in the 24th minute when Harvey Sayer crossed for Jordan Ponticelli to head home.

Tom Tonks also hit the crossbar for the visitors, while Reuben Wyatt had a goal ruled out for the Lambs in the second half.
