Cllr Janet Eagland hands the trophy to Hank Vyse

The annual Swinfen Broun Challenge Bowls Trophy battle saw the Lichfield City Council team fail to clinch the title.

The team – led by Cllr Janet Eagland – were beaten by the Museum Bowling Club.

Cllr Eagland was looking for a repeat of the victory the team secured when she was first Mayor in 2001, but it wasn’t to be as the council team went down 107-69.
