Lichfield City FC suffered the pain of dropping a place in the Midland Football League Division One without even kicking a ball.

Gary Birch’s men saw their game at Pilkington XXX today (April 2) rained off.

But the respite from a miserable run of form over the Easter period was short as a win for Heath Hayes against Atherstone saw them leapfrog City, who now find themselves seventh in the table.

Lichfield will look to end a run of four games without a win when they travel to Southam on Tuesday (April 5).
