Hopes were high for the Black Falcon team as they entered the second race of the Blancpain Endurance Series.

After a strong qualifying performance, Christodolou and team-mates Klaas Hummel and Steve Jans enjoyed some early success before an ABS problem led to a lengthy pit stop which effectively ended the teams hopes of a high-ranking finish.

In the end they were forced to settle for a disappointing 47th place – 19th in class.

“I am absolutely gutted,” Christodolou said.”Our qualifying pace was beyond our expectations, and it was looking really good in the race until we encountered the issue with the ABS.

“Had we not had the incident, I think we would have easily have been in position for second place, maybe even fighting for a win in class.”

The next stage of the Blancpain series takes Christodolou to the Paul Ricard circuit in France on June 29 and 30.
