Electric bike manufacturer [PowaStation](http://www.powastation.co.uk/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk) provided Police Credit Union chief executive Peter Evans with the vehicle for him to complete a 60-mile ride for Children Today.

He eventually completed the 60-mile cycling marathon in seven hours.

Peter said:

> “I didn’t try to lead the 30 strong field, but stayed with my mates from the Droitwich Spa Veterans Football Team. Thanks to the electric bike I arrived looking as fresh as a daisy – I had to keep waiting at the top of the hills for the others.”

Graham Green of PowaStation, added:

> “With fuel prices rising, more and more commuters are ditching their cars for electric bikes. Peter’s leisurely marathon ride shows it’s viable even over quite long distances – as long as you take a tea break!”

The marathon ride was organised by Police Credit Union in aid of Children Today, which helps disabled people up to the age of 25 to enjoy a better quality of life by providing specialised assistive equipment.

The ride went through the grounds of Packwood House, and picturesque towns of Wootton Wawen, Bidford-on-Avon and Earlswood.
