LICHFIELD failed to hit top form with the bat as they went down by four wickets at home to Penkridge 2nds.

The city men were sent in to bat first after losing the toss and soon found themselves on 13-2 by the fifth over.

A knock of 24 by Harry Turley-Salmons and a 56 from Robbie Stone gave Lichfield some stability, while Elliot Dowen's unbeaten 36 helped his side to a total of 149 before they were skittled out.

James Green did much of the damage as he finished with figures of 4-37.

Penkridge lost Ollie Jones (3) in the fifth over with the score on 12, but the scoring was steady as they chipped away at the target. 

Lichfield managed to take six wickets, but it wasn't enough as the visitors reached the total inside 38 overs. 

Nick Richards was the pick of the home bowlers with figures of 3-15.
