# Lichfield garden nursery joins charity fundraising effort

A Lichfield garden centre has raised £400 as part of the world’s largest coffee morning.

The Plant Plot garden nursery supported Macmillan Cancer Care with a coffee morning, home-made cream teas and a family brunch. There was also a blind auction of six photography vouchers worth £100 each, donated by local photographer Brian Wicks of Image-Inn at Curborough Craft Centre.

Owner of The Plant Pot, Diana Muir, said:

> “By the time all of our activities have been completed, we will be sure to have raised well over £500 which is excellent. We are very grateful to our customers for supporting us for the seventh year.”

Macmillan is the UK cancer support charity aimed at helping patients and their families in all areas of their lives affected by the illness. The Plant Plot is situated in Lichfield on the A51, on the way to Longdon and Rugeley.

Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant also popped along to support the event. He said:

> “Diana and David are good people and I am pleased to have been able to support their activities in order to help those suffering from cancer. Many constituents have told me of their personal experiences – all good – of being helped by Macmillan nurses. This is a very worthy and practical charity.”
