Museum Gardens

The restored gates to refurbished gardens in Lichfield have been reopened.

Beacon Park’s Museum Gardens were given a makeover as part of the city’s multi-million pound Historic Parks Project.

Cllr Neil Roberts, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Development Services, explained:

> “We’ve remodelled the gardens and restored the statues and fountain. We’ve also laid new pathways, added new seating and bins and restored the gates. We still have a few finishing touches to make, including improving the planting, which we’ll do over the summer and autumn, and installing historic information signs.

> “The balustrades, that were damaged in a car accident last year, are also being re-crafted by master stone masons and will be installed as soon as they are ready.”
