The Pearl Fishers

A tale of passion, loyalty and tension will feature when the Swansea City Opera comes to Lichfield.

The Pearl Fishers is their latest production and will be coming to the Lichfield Garrick on April 24.

A fishing village in ancient Ceylon is the setting for Bizet’s steamy tale of a tautly woven friendship, loyalty and forbidden love.

A spokesperson for the show said:

> “The Pearl Fishers is an exquisite combination of emotional turmoil and pervasive sadness, containing a ceaselessly seductive score with one of the most famous and beautiful operatic duets ever written for tenor and baritone – Au Fond du Temple Saint. It is beautifully performed by some of the finest opera singers and orchestral players in the country.”
