People will get a rare chance to see inside Sandfields Pumping Station as part of the 2017 Lichfield Heritage Weekend.

Sandfields Pumping Station

Lichfield Waterworks Trust will throw open its doors as part of the event on Saturday (September 23).

The group will organise a walk at 11am from Speakers’ Corner. It will follow the route of the Hanch Tunnel to the pumping station.

A spokesperson said: “This will be a very rare opportunity to look inside one of the regions finest pieces of industrial heritage, described as a cathedral to the industrial revolution.”
