LICHFIELD'S Finlay Lines enjoyed another successful weekend in the IAME British Kart Championship.

The Rowrah event saw rounds six and seven take place, with the city youngster showcasing his strong pace once more on the opening day.

Qualifying third fastest, the championship hopeful placed himself firmly in the fight at the front of the ultra-competitive Junior X30 field.

Two mature and measured drives followed in the heat races as he took a third and second place ahead of the day's final.

Starting among the front-runners, Lines produced a composed performance in the feature race of the day to secure second spot at the flag.

Sunday's seventh round presented a sterner challenge from the outset though.

Qualifying seventh meant there was more work to do against another closely matched line-up, and despite showing competitive speed throughout the heats, the Lichfield youngster finished eighth and tenth respectively, leaving him with plenty to do in the final.

But Lines showed his on-track ability once more as decisive overtakes allowed him to work his way through the field to reach fourth place by the finish.
