# Lichfield Lions raise almost £2,000 for young carers in Staffordshire

A Lichfield fundraising raffle draw has raised almost £2,000 for Staffordshire Young Carers.

The money was collected as part of Lichfield Lions’ annual Giant Easter Egg Raffle and the draw took place outside the Scales Pub in Market Street on Saturday (April 2).

Lions President Laurence Skermer said:

> “Once again we have been impressed by the generosity of the people of Lichfield who give so willingly to this cause. Young carers are children, some as young as seven or eight years old, who miss out on so much in childhood because they are the principal carer for a parent.

> “This is a cause which we have been delighted to support for several years.”
